One-to-one bartender mentoring to help you step up
Bartender mentoring is one-to-one support over 3 to 6 months to grow in technique, menu creation and personal brand. We start from a plan built around you, meet monthly or fortnightly and work on your recipes, your CV and your portfolio, and on a move into consultancy if that's your goal.
I offer one-to-one bartender mentoring: technique, menu creation, personal brand and where to take your career. We start with a plan for the next 3 to 6 months and meet monthly or fortnightly to review it. We work with your recipes, your questions and your real goals.

From a working bar.
I'm a bartender, and co-owner and creative director of Stillroom, in Madrid; before that I spent three years behind the bar at Baldoria. I also run all 10 courses at Stillroom Academy, from cocktail fundamentals to ferments, clarifications and signature serves.
How I work
Useful mentoring has clear goals and work between sessions. This is how I set it up:
First conversation
We talk about where you are, what you want to achieve and by when. If mentoring isn't what you need, I'll tell you.
A 3 to 6 month plan
We set concrete goals and go through your CV or portfolio to see where we're starting from.
Monthly or fortnightly sessions
Each session focuses on one topic: a technique, a recipe, a menu, your professional presence. You leave with tasks for the next one.
Review of your work
You bring your recipes, spec sheets or draft menus and we go through them together, with specific feedback.
Wrap-up and next steps
At the end we compare what you've achieved with the plan, and I set out your next steps clearly.
Before we start
How long does the mentoring last?
As a guide, between three and six months, with one session a month or every fortnight. We adjust it in the first conversation to suit your goals.
Can it be done remotely?
The mentoring takes place in person in Madrid. If you need to do it remotely, ask me and we'll look at the format and which parts of the work we can cover.
What level do I need?
You don't need to be a head bartender, but you should already work behind a bar or have a solid grounding. If you're starting from scratch, a Stillroom Academy course such as the cocktail fundamentals course will suit you better.
How is it different from a Stillroom Academy course?
An Academy course is a single-subject session on one technique, in a small group. Mentoring is individual and ongoing: we work on your goals over several months. You can combine the two.
What if I want to train my whole team?
Then what you need is bar staff training: a bespoke programme for the whole group, at your venue. Mentoring is for one person.
Pairs well with: bar staff training, signature cocktails and cocktail menu design.
Shall we start your plan?
Tell me where you are now and where you want to get to. We'll talk it through in a first conversation and see whether mentoring is right for you.
